Tour The Office
This practice began in Haymarket in January, 1982. Dr. Kayes had grown up in northern Virginia and wanted to return to the area to practice. The Haymarket/Gainesville area was attractive because it seemed friendlier and less hectic than areas inside the Beltway, and its rural atmosphere appealed to his outdoor interests. For eleven years, the practice was truly a family affair, as Dr. Kayes practiced in a home office with his wife helping at the front desk and his four young children occasionally dropping by to play with other children from the neighborhood when they visited the office.
In 1993, the growing practice moved to downtown Haymarket into a custom-designed, modern office building. With a new location and increased space, we were able to design an office where aesthetics, comfort, and efficiency were top priorities. We planned our functional areas to be open-view, so that our patients could feel confident about cleanliness and orderliness as they passed by the sterilization area, lab, and emergency equipment bay.
This move to downtown Haymarket also allowed for the incorporation of exciting new technologies becoming available at the time. The world of digital x-rays and computerized records appeared at this office several years before becoming standard in other practices, and air abrasion offered versatility to improve restorative care for fillings. Cosmetic dentistry options also advanced at the time of the move, and the addition of cosmetic bonding techniques, porcelain veneers, and implant dentistry to our services provided new choices to improve smiles of our patients.
We have continued with the policy of providing state-of-the-art dental care to this day, adding the VELscope oral cancer detection system and Cad-Cam computerized same-day crown services. An additional technology has been our extra-oral digital bitewing x-ray system, which can provide enhanced viewing for the doctor with more comfort for the patient.
Of course, the best equipment and design is only secondary to the quality of the staff, and we can assure you that we have the most professional staff around anywhere. Everyone at the office shares the same values about caring for people, and work to treat patients the way they would want to be treated themselves. We are proud that we don't need a sign in sheet because our front desk staff generally knows everybody, and will work to ensure that our new patients seem like a part of our dental “family”. One of our favorite compliments over the years was from our equipment repairman, who said he loved hanging around our office because it is a fun place where everybody gets along and has a good time.
